Big Boy Bed

It was time to get Spencer a big boy bed.  Pretty soon Oliver will be sleeping in the crib so we wanted to get Spencer used to his new bed first.  We went to Ikea, got the bed, let him pick out the sheets, and then went home.  It was a fast and easy trip which can't always be said about Ikea.  We thought it would take him a few days to get used to the bed but he loved it right away.  The first go was for nap time.  He only got out of bed twice before falling asleep.  From that point on he hasn't gotten out of bed.  I'm so glad it was an easy transition.

Even Oliver likes Spencer's bed!

Owlz Baseball Game

So I do a "letter of the week" with Spencer.  Each day has a specific activity attached to it (baking, craft, field trip, song, etc).  For the letter "B" I thought it would be fun to go to a local Triple A baseball game.  However, Spencer thought it would be more fun climbing up and down the stairs.  We ended up leaving in the 6th inning.  Cooper and Reagan came with us since it was our sleep over night.

Olliebug chillin with his dad and cousin.  He's a season veteran at baseball games thanks to his cousin Coop.

I was shocked at how empty it was.  We got in free cause of our "Pass of All Passes". But even if we would have had to pay it would have only been $4 to get in.

Hogle Zoo

My good friend, Linsey, and I thought it would be fun to take our kids to the zoo.  It was fun alright, but also pretty challenging since we had two 2 1/2 year olds, a 4 month old, and a 2 month old between the two of us.  We didn't make it to all the exhibits so we'll have to go back again before it gets too cold.

Spencer loved the monkeys.  We spent lots of time looking at the different types of monkeys.

Spencer getting a drink of water from the lions mouth - so trusting:)

It's hard to tell but there is an elephant in the background.  We missed the elephant show but there's always next time, right?

Olliebug chillin' in the stroller.  It's not a very good picture of him, oh well!  He was fabulous the whole time so I owe him big.

Spencer was also fascinated with the seals and polar bears.

This was the last shot of the day.  After the apes we made our way home.

1/2 Ironman

It wasn't long after we returned from our summer travels that Casey participated in a local triathlon.  We woke up early on a Saturday morning and cheered him along.  The cheer squad thinks he placed as well as he did because of all their spirit!  We're proud of you Casey!

Spencer waiting for Casey to pass us on the bike.  The race started late so we had to wait a little longer than expected which is why he looks bored in the second photo.

After all the waiting we saw him for maybe 5 seconds on his bike.

We hurried to another spot to see him for another 5 seconds on his bike.

Casey looking strong on his run

After swimming a mile, biking 56 miles, and running 13 miles he still had enough energy to carry Spencer across the finish line.  What an amazing dad!

Spenceman & Olliebug

4 months old and wondering what he has gotten himself into

Spencer and his lovely "cheese" smile.  Don't ever teach your kid to say "cheese" for a picture cause this is what it turns out to be.

Spencer giving his brother a ride on the 4-wheeler.  Poor Oliver more times than not has this paranoid look on his face.  He probably thinks he got sent to the wrong family!

Ok, maybe he does like us afterall.

Just like his older brother.  He likes to sleep with something over his face.

Olliebug loves to stand or sit these days so the exersaucer is his best friend.

Spencer painting.  Nothing this kid does is clean

These two are doing more and more together.  I hope it continues as they get older.

Isn't this boy adorable?

4 months old and helping mom with the laundry.  What a good boy!

Spencer getting ready to ride the bike.  He loves everything his dad does.

Once again Oliver looks scared to be here

Saying Goodbye to Cali

Here are some random photos of our last few days in Cali.  It was hard to say goodbye, but we knew we'd be back again.

Ella was a great cousin/babysitter to Spencer and Scout.  The 3 of them had lots of fun together.

A 4 generation picture (Sue, Grandma Lou, Harper, and Aymee)

Oliver passed out on the living room floor.  We had a busy day so when we came home for dinner he fell asleep and didn't wake up until the next morning.

The boys with grandpa and grandma

Our drive home wasn't the best.  We had kept Spencer awake all day so that he would sleep the whole way home.  Well, that didn't happen.  We put him in the car and headed to Aymee's house to say goodbye.  Spencer fell asleep so we transferred him into Aymee's place.  He was in and out while we were there.  We transferred him back into the car and he slept for a little bit longer.  Then for the rest of the night he was uncomfortable and couldn't sleep.  We felt so bad for him but there was nothing we could do except for pull over in St. George and let him out of his carseat.  This is us sleeping off an exit.  We got back on the road around 8:00 am but didn't get home until the evening cause we had to stop to feed Oliver every few hours.  This was the longest trip ever!

Park time

One great thing about visiting Casey's parents is the plethora of parks within walking distance.

Spencer trying to walk Todd while Scout was giving him a sand bath.  Those two are quite the combo and are lucky Todd is a mellow dog.

Thank goodness grandma had gone to the park too otherwise Spencer and Scout would have had a hay day.

Sea World

We were trying to decide between Sea World and Disneyland and Sea World won out because Spencer loves animals.  We'll probably hit up D-land next summer cause he should be big enough to ride some rides.

Brady and Jennelle's family joined us at Sea World.  Everyone had a great time even with no naps:)

Spencer and Casey waiting for a show to start

Spencer and Casey on a spiny ride.  I can't go on rides like that cause I get really sick.  I've been known to throw up on a ride.

Waiting for another show to start

These two were best friends all day.

Family photo

Seriously?  Only these two would want to pose for a picture like this.  I learned a lot about "pole" etiquette after this picture was taken.

Our happy Olliebug.  In this picture he was 3 1/2 months old and had recently learned how to roll over.  No more leaving him on the couch:(  Unless he is super hungry he is happy.  He loves looking at his hands and feet.  He also really likes to grab ears and noses.  He's a funny kid that likes attention.  Watch out Spencer!

The dolphin show which was more about the performers than it was the dolphins.  We enjoyed it anyways though.
