Dairy Days at Farm Country

Farm Country had a special event called "Dairy Days"so we invited some of our friends to come check it out with us.  It was actually a lot of fun.  The kids got to make ice cream from scratch in ziplock bags, ride the cow train, taste homemade butter (Spencer's favorite), and go on a pony and wagon ride.  Spencer slept good that night!

Spencer picked the cow he wanted to ride on.  It just so happened to be named "Cody" which is a name Casey loves and wants to name one of our children.  I guess Spencer is on board with that name too.

A family who swims together stays together

One night while Spencer was playing downstairs he got into his daddy's workout gear.  He put on a swim cap and then wanted the rest of us to wear one.  As we wore the swim caps we danced to the "hot dog" song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  What a fun night!

Christmas card worthy?

The boys

I think my pearl earrings look amazing with the yellow swim cap.  I'll have to keep this in mind for my next race!

Our past week

Spencer trying to get Oliver to smile for the camera.  Whatever he told him didn't work!

"catch the ball", "hit the ball", "pitch the ball", and "run the bases" is pretty much what we talk about all day lately.  Spencer is way into baseball so that's what we do whether it's inside or outside.  The other day I was getting into my bathing suit and I heard Oliver making an unusual sound.  When I peaked my head around the corner I found Spencer bent over carrying Oliver.  He told me that Oliver "hit the ball" and needed to "run the bases".  I guess I can't leave them alone anymore.

Oliver napping at the pool

Spencer at the pool with his good friend Blake.  Lately we've been going to the pool at least 3 times a week.  I love not working in the summer!

Spencer put on his own swim diaper.  I don't think it meets the pools requirements but it is pretty funny.  Next time I'll help him put his leg in the second hole so he gets it right:)

Spencer sitting in the Bumbo because Oliver had just sat in it.  Besides baseball talk we hear "Spencer's turn" alot.

Father's Day breakfast.  So I have a confession to make.......I'm terrible at making breakfast (bacon, hashbrowns, eggs, etc).  I was going to try to make breakfast for Father's Day but Casey told me he would do it.  I'm glad he did otherwise we wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as we did.

The Fair

It was our town's annual fair so we thought it would be fun to take the boys and check it out.  We weren't planning on riding any rides, but Spencer was so excited about them that we caved and bought tickets.  He had so much fun that Casey took him back the next day to ride more rides.  He definitely gets his love for rollercoasters from his dad!

Just in case you couldn't find him he is the little boy in the very back by himself.  He chose his seat and loved every minute of the ride.

He's in the airplane at the very top.  He's such a risk taker!

Oliver aka "Olliebug"

Our little Olliebug is 2 months old now.  My oh my does the time fly!

He has found his thumb and prefers it over a binkie.  In many ways I'm excited about this, but boy will we have a hard battle to fight when he gets older.  It's easy to throw away a binkie but it's not so easy to throw away a thumb.

He has a lot of strength in his neck and legs.  He loves to stand whenever he can.  Casey put him in the Bumbo the other night and I thought it was too soon, but he did awesome in it.  I don't remember Spencer being able to sit in a Bumbo at 2 months.

He is sleeping 10 hours at night which rocks!  We lucked out because both our boys have been amazing sleepers (day and night).

Lastly, he is smiling and making eye contact.  Casey would object to this comment because Oliver doesn't make eye contact or like to be with Casey.  He prefers his mommy and I'm fine with that.  So if you want to see him smile make sure I'm around cause boy can I get this kid to smile:)

Oliver's Blessing

We hope one day Oliver realizes how much his family loves him.  His Grandpa and Grandpa Robles came from southern California for his baby blessing as well as his Uncle Brady, Aunt Jennelle, cousin Scout and Olive.  Also, his Grandad and Grandma Karen came from Montana.  On his blessing day the weather didn't cooperate so we had to move the luncheon to our house.  Let's just say there was barely any room to breath so even thinking about getting a family pictures was out of the question.  The above picture was taken a few days later.  We hope he is forgiving.  We really tried to get more photos!

Spencer wanting to be in the photo.  He loves doing everything with Oliver.  Just the other day I found him trying to get Oliver to hold the bat so he could pitch the ball to him - too cute!

Our past week in a nutshell

We've been quite busy this past week so here are some of the highlights.  We will do a separate post of Oliver's blessing day.  Enjoy!

We've had really hot weather so our neighbor busted out her kiddie pool.  Unfortunately it had a hole in it so the kids had to use water guns, bowls, and the hose to stay wet.  Oliver was the safe zone while the kids had a water fight.  He's involved even when he's asleep.

 Saturday mornings are fun!

While Brady and Jennelle were in town we took them to the Dinosaur Museum and Farm Country.  Spencer and Scout had a blast running around.

Spencer typically picks one of the smaller horses but this time he chose the biggest horse out there.

At least Brady and Casey look like their having fun on the wagon ride.

 Oliver at 6 weeks old

Ollie hanging out while we ate dinner.  He's getting more personality and we love it.  I especially love it when he smiles at me while I'm talking to him.

Casey finishing 5th at a local triathlon.  We were so proud of him and his 5th place finish because he hadn't trained in the past 6 weeks (baby, injury, sickness).

I've been busy making baby gifts.  These pacifier clips were a first for me but I thought they turned out pretty cute.

Spencer taking a moment to read his new book.
