Montana - fishing with Grandad

Our boys love to fish however; we don't go very often:(  So they were thrilled when Grandad took them fishing in his boat and to the fishing pond (pictures will be in another post).  Casey tagged along because we were nervous about Oliver falling into the water which ended up happening anyway.  That kid goes a mile a minute and doesn't notice anything around him.  Luckily he's tough and doesn't seem to be bothered by the bumps or bruises or in this case cold water.  Thanks Grandad for a great time on the river!

Silver Mountain Resort

A few days after Casey's party we loaded up the car and headed to Post Falls, Idaho.  We spent a day with Ryanne's mom (Oma) before heading to Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, Idaho.  There we met Amber, Chad, Andrew, Josh Posh, and Oma.  We had 3 jammed packed days at the resort.  Here are the highlights of our trip.

They had this awesome passport activity program for the kids.  After the kids completed an activity they would get a stamp in their book.  We were working towards 12 stamps so we could get the souvenir t-shirt.  I'm happy to say that we met our goal.  The pictures above shows the bead bee keychain they made.

We rode the gondola to the top of the mountain.  We had lunch and went on a small hike (another stamp for the passport).  It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful.

Andrew's birthday was coming up so we threw him a small bugged themed party.  We planned 4 games for the kids but cut it down to one because of time.  We hid (more like placed) the bugs outside, gave them each a bug kit, and let them loose.  They had a blast finding all the different plastic bugs.  The best part was they got to keep them and bring them inside:)

Andrew couldn't wait to eat his birthday cake that traveled all the way from Seattle.  It was a delicious cake.

The main reason for choosing this resort was the indoor water park.  It was the BEST!  It was very kid friendly.  We would go in the morning for 2 hours, after nap for 1-2 hours, and then before bed for 2 hours.  They had small water slides the kids could go on by themselves or big ones with adult supervision.  Everything about this place rocked except for the pitch black, super fast, inner tube water slide.  The boys and I were terrified and mom and Casey laughed the whole way down.  So mean!

The guys all loved the flo-rider wave machine.  Casey stayed up the longest but of coarse he's the one I don't have a photo of.  I only brought my camera in one time because I didn't want it to get wet or stolen.

We entered 2 ducks in the race but unfortunately neither of them won.  Ollie's came in 4th and Spencer's was second to last:(  They got another stamp in their passport book and got to keep the ducks as a souvenir.

They had a family movie night out on the lawn one night so we went.  The boys loved it and Eleanor slept through it.  Oh and we got another stamp:)

Saying goodbye was the hardest part of the trip.  We can't wait to do something like this again.

Happy Birthday Casey

A month ago today Casey had his 36th birthday.  When I asked the boys what they wanted to do for him they said "a race".  We settled on an obstacle race in our friends backyard.  They had to climb into the treehouse, jump on the trampoline, shoot a basket, run, through water, punch the punching bag, go do a slide, work through the swing set, ride little bikes, shoot a bow and arrow, go through tires, do a push up and grab a sucker with their mouth, shoot water guns, and cross the finish line.  I made these adorable medals out of mini candy bars, ribbon, and paper.  After the big race we had a BBQ and played games.  We had a blast.  Thank you Casey for being born!
