Alki Beach

We met some of my friends at Alki Beach in West Seattle for breakfast.  Spencer had a hard time sitting so Casey took him outside and let him play at the beach.  The two of them had a fun time with the leaves as you'll see below.

My girlfriends (left to right): Marcy, Mel, and Karen

Casey was standing above and dropping the leaves down to Spencer.  He had so much fun running after them.

Spencer didn't have a coat on even though it was cold outside.  I guess all the running around kept him warm enough.  We knew it was time to go when he asked us if he could go swimming.

Spencer took a little break from playing to do a photo with his brother.  Olliebug wasn't sure why we were making him sit on the hard rocks.

It's hard to see but the Space Needle is in the background.  It looks so much closer in person.

Seattle Children's Museum

After hanging out at the Market we went to the Children's Museum which is right next to the Space Needle.  The Children's Museum wasn't very big, but surprisingly, it had a lot of stuff to do.  Spencer had a blast running around and exploring while Oliver had a blast following his brother.

It took forever to get Spencer to leave the water area.  This was our first stop and had we known he liked it so much we would have had him come here last.

Need assistance?  These 3 boys will come to your rescue.

Spencer shopping at the mini grocery store.  It was his idea to put Oliver in the cart.  I wasn't thrilled about the idea because it didn't seem safe, but Spencer actually walked slowly so Oliver didn't tip.  I also wasn't thrilled about the nasty looks other parents were giving us.  It's not like we left the kids alone.  We were right there to help if needed.

They had an area that highlighted different countries.  We were in the Philippines riding a tuk-tuk in this picture.

We opted not to go up in the Space Needle.  It's expensive so we're waiting until the boys are old enough to remember the experience.

Gum Anyone?

We took a trip to Seattle to visit my sister, Amber, and her new son Andrew.  While we were in town we stopped by the Market (Pike's) as well as the famous gum wall.  The wall has expanded since I last saw it 4 years ago.  Spencer was excited to be able to add to the wall.

Casey and Spencer

Isn't this disgusting?  It's hard to imagine just how many people have visited the wall and added to it.

Casey and his contribution to the wall

Spencer was lucky and got to add 2 pieces of gum to the wall because he's 2 years old.

This is the opposing wall in Post Alley.  I guess that business isn't as fun as the other one.

Pumpkin Patch

This year we tried out a new Pumpkin Patch because last year our favorite pumpkin patch closed.  This new patch had lots of extra activities that the boys liked.

My 3 boys going down the big slide

 Spencer jumping into the hay

The 3 of us waiting for the hay ride to start

Spencer found his pumpkin right when we got off the hay ride.  We kept asking him if he would like a bigger one and he kept telling us "already got mine".  He is a determined little boy who rarely ever changes his mind once it's set.

This is Olliebug's first Halloween and first time at the pumpkin patch but, that didn't hold him back with finding a perfect pumpkin.

Olliebug wasn't too sure about being stuck between two pumpkins

We were all covered in dirt by the end of the night.  It was so worth it though because the boys had such a fun time.  Until next year.........

Bath Time in the Kitchen Sink

Oliver is eating baby food now so he's usually ready for a bath right after dinner.  For some reason we weren't ready to give him a bath so we put him in the kitchen sink.  He had a fun time playing with the faucet and getting water everywhere.  His brother saw how much fun he was having and had to join in which turned into Spencer dumping water on Oliver.  Luckily Oliver loves his brother and anything that he does and didn't mind the water getting dumped on his head.

What I love most about bath time is seeing all of Oliver's little rolls.  His skin is so soft and his rolls are irresistible that sometimes I find myself thinking about nibbling his little body.  I know, it probably sounds gross, but it's the truth.  There's just something scrumptious about a little baby's soft, rollie body.

St. George Marathon

Casey ran the St. George, Utah Marathon for the third time.  As always he ran super fast and finished it in 2:42.  We are very proud of him and are glad we got to support him.

The boys at 7 am waiting to see their daddy run by.  It was really cold out but they wanted to cheer him on.

 Go Casey!

After Casey finished we found a park and Spencer ran around.  He is a brave soul which can be scary at times.  He saw other kids sliding down these bars so he had to try it himself.

Grandpa standing by just in case.

Grandma and Olliebug hanging out.  Casey's parents made the journey from southern California to support him.  We had a lot of fun together.

Casey with his friend Trevor.  This was Trevor's first marathon and he finished in 4 hours.  He's awesome!
