THE BABY TAMALE ARRIVED!

The baby finally arrived! HE came on April 29th @ 1:03 am. He weighed 7 lb. 1 oz. and was 20 inches long. We have not decided on a name yet but we hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we are enjoying him.

40 weeks and counting

The Tamale's due date was Friday, April 23rd and that date has come and gone.  We think the Tamale is too happy with the free rent he/she is receiving.  Since the Ironman race is this upcoming Saturday we are hoping that the Tamale will stay in for another week so that Casey can participate and I can cheer him on.  Our next doctor's appointment is tomorrow so we'll have a better idea of what's going on.  We'll keep everyone posted.

To be honest I never planned on taking a photo of my belly on the due date because I assumed the Tamale would have already arrived.  Lucky for me the belly hasn't grown too much in the past couple of weeks.  I measured the other night and I'm still 36" around.

Baby Booties

These past couple of months my sewing machine and I have been attached at the hip.  I've been making items for our little Tamale but I've also been making baby gifts for friends.  Below are some of the baby booties that I've recently made.  They are super easy and fun to make so I hope my friends like them!

Happy Birthday Me!

A week ago today was my 29th birthday and even though it was more low key than previous years it was still amazing.  Casey made sure I felt like a Queen all day long.  He fixed me breakfast (French toast) and dinner (Thai Curry from scratch).  He surprised me by inviting our cousin/friend, Corinne, over for dinner and games.  And, the coolest thing he did was order cookies from my favorite bakery, The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery, instead of making a cake.  We're really not cake people.  Once again my husband has gone above and beyond which makes me feel so blessed to have him in my life.  I love you Sugar!

39 weeks

My mom and her co-workers were desperate to have an updated photo of me the other day.  So I took out the gorilla tripod and did the best I could at taking some photos of my belly.  Only 1 more week to go if that:)

Back to St.George

Since we didn't plan to go anywhere for Casey's spring break we decided at the last minute to make one last trip down to St. George.  This gave Casey one more chance to train on the Ironman course and it gave me a chance to hang out with my great friend, Jen.  It was a fun trip except for the drive there and back.  I guess being 38 weeks pregnant had a part in that.

Tamale's room

We (mostly Ryanne) have been working really hard to make sure the Tamale's room is ready for when it finally comes. Its been fun to give up the bigger room so the Tamale has enough room for all of its stuff. We hope the Tamale feels at home.

Here are pictures of the room. Enjoy

Ryanne and her mom made the crib skirt at the bottom.
This is the changing table that is attached to the crib. When we got it, there was a thin plastic pad with a belt attached to it. Do babies really try and get away when getting their diapers changed?
It was not in the best shape so Ryanne went out and found a pad and then covered it.

Ryanne and her mom, Leslie,  made this curtain to add a little touch of love to the room.

Here is the baby's room in all its glory.

Here is the pack and play up and ready to be used.
note: Casey took the picture before Ryanne could make the bed. Casey about lost his life for posting this picture.

We want to make sure the Tamale is safe when it first gets here so we found a way to get the pack and play in our room. In order for it to be moved in and out of the room we have to break it down, it's too big for the door frame. Casey has a small walk way on the far side and between the pack and play and the dressers. Thank goodness he has kept off the pregnancy weight.

Surprised to see we got ourselves a running stroller. Casey can't wait to take this stroller outside and see if it can keep a 6 mile pace. Ryanne has sworn Casey to promise to always wear the wrist strap when ever he uses the stroller.
There you have it.
We are SUPER EXCITED about the arrival of the Tamale! And can't wait.

Easter Weekend

The Erickson family had an Easter get together on Saturday afternoon so Casey and I drove up for it.  We had lots of fun hanging out with everyone.  While we were there I took photos of me (my belly) with my grandparents.  My grandparents have always been a huge part of my life in fact they are more like another set of parents to me.

When Casey woke up on Easter morning he was a little shocked that the Easter Bunny had come for him.  He was hesitant to open the items in his basket until he saw that there was a pair of running gloves in there  (he recently lost one of his running gloves at a race and was so bummed about it).  And, since the Easter Bunny knows Casey so well he got Power Bars and Shot Blocks instead of candy:)
