Introducing Miss Eleanor Sue

My dreams came true on Monday, March 24th at 9:58 am.  We were blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby girl!  She was 7 lbs 1 oz and 19 inches long.  She scored an 8 on her Apgar and didn't need any NICCU time so she got to be with us right away.  Both boys had to be in the NICCU so it was a new experience having her with us.  The whole first day I was in shock that we had a girl.  I had convinced myself that we would be a family of boys.  When the boys came to visit they immediately fell in love with her.  Lucky for them she didn't mind them holding her or smothering her with kisses. Below are pictures of Eleanor on her first day with us.

bubble wrap fun

Our friend surprised us the other day with a big box of bubble wrap.  We took some of it outside and jumped on it and then came inside and went crazy with it in the box.  It turned into a loud wrestling match which we think Ollie won.  He typically wins all the wrestling matches cause he's tough and fearless.  Spencer has pulled an uncle Josh before with "stop, stop, stop, I can't breath".  We love you Josh Posh and expect you to teach Spencer some wrestling moves so he has a slight chance against his younger brother:)

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We started the morning off with Lucky Charms and then later had friends over for a fun scavenger hunt.  I'm bummed because I didn't get a picture of the treat they found at the end of the hunt:(  I planned on ending the day with a traditional Irish dinner however; Casey had scheduled himself a dentist appointment.  So we had our dinner last night (corn beef & cabbage with shortbread and shamrock punch).  I think the boys had a great day!

I just have to say that Spencer took the picture of Olliebug and I.  He didn't count down so that's why my face expression is so funny looking.

Teacher Appreciation Gifts

I didn't get much notice about teacher appreciation week so I was only able to come up with a few things.  To be honest, if I didn't have a baby coming in a week I probably would have devoted more time.  I just have other things to focus on:)

Spencer has a teacher and 2 aides so we decided to give hand sanitizer and kleenex to each of them.  Then we chose a "favorite" item from each of their lists (notecards, candle, fruit basket).

A Night at the Museum

A small historical museum in Lehi switched things up and did a "live" museum.   We took the boys and they LOVED it!  After going through the whole thing Spencer asked to go through again so we did.  The first time through Spencer wanted nothing to do with the people or reptiles.  In fact, I think he hid behind me for most of it.  However, the second time was a completely different experience.  He asked to hold the snakes and wanted to pet the hawks (not pictured).  The people were fantastic and we'd go again in the future.

We had to watch Oliver around the reptiles because he wanted to love them too much!  He has no fear and would just grab them and then squeeze them tight.

Spencer wouldn't go inside the original Lehi jail cell.  He said that he hadn't done anything bad so there was no reason to be locked up.  I on the other hand could think of a thousand naughty things he'd done in the past few days:)

Oliver's big boy bed

Awhile ago Oliver started to climb in and out of his crib at night.  When we'd go to check on them we'd find Oliver asleep in Spencer's bed which isn't that big.  So we decided to convert Ollie to a toddler bed in hopes he would stay in his own bed.  Well, that didn't happen so we pushed the two beds together and now they sleep in one big bed.  They love it!  However, occasionally we'll find Oliver asleep under the bed and Spencer asleep with a hat on - boys!

DIY Croquet

The weathers been warming up here so we've been spending more time outside.  My body was having a hard day so I knew I had to keep the boys contained in our small backyard.  So out of pipe cleaners I made a croquet course.  The boys loved it which resulted in 20 minutes of sitting for me.
