A few moments from Spencer's life

Here are a few photos we have taken of Spencer.

Spencer's usual position after feeding

 Passed out on the pacifier.

Wonder what he is thinking about

Spencer kickin' it in his sneaker socks and hand mittens

Is that a smirk?

Spencer decided he wanted a Faux hawk to show off to his friends.

Just got done feeding now waiting for a burp

Why does he seem so much older in this picture?
He's growing up so fast.

WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THESE 5 SPECIAL PEOPLE

We find ourselves with an apartment that seems a lot more empty. The last of our help has left us and we are not sure what to do next. Over the last two weeks we have been spoiled rotten. It started when Grand Dad and Grandma Erickson showed up only hours after Spencer was born to give Ryanne support while Casey left for his Ironman. We are so grateful they decided to jump in a car and drive down from Montana. Thanks for helping her get through the beginnings of being a mom.

Grand Dad and Spencer

Grandma Karen already being put on diaper duty.
This is actually why Grandma Karen came, to hold Spencer.

Not too long after Grandma Leslie arrived. Grandma Leslie was able to stay with us for over a week. She was more helpful then she will ever know. Thanks for keeping the house cleaned up and the delicious meals.

Grandma Leslie and her first grandchild.

Next to show up was Grandma Sue. She was at Casey's Ironman and decided to drive back up with him after the race to spend some time with Spencer. Unfortunately Grandma Sue was only able to stay one night with us before heading back to California for work. We are so glad she came and helped us run a few errands.

Grandma Sue with Casey and Spencer just before she had to go back home.

Rounding off our top 5 list is Aunt Amber. She waited a week before coming out. Aunt Amber loved holding Spencer. Any chance she got she made sure he was being taken care of. Aunt Amber was able to help us slow things down. It was sad to see her leave.

Aunt Amber earned her status as "Aunt" after being peed on.
Just before leaving, Aunt Amber held Spencer for one more time.

A gigantic THANK YOU to the 5 of you.
We love you so much and are glad you were able to spend the first few days of Spencer's life with us.

Spencer's 2 week check-up

Spencer had his 2 week check-up. He did awesome. He is now measuring at 21 inches and almost 8 pounds. Everything checked out great. The hardest part for him was when they drew blood. It was not the prick in the heal that got him crying. It was the amount they needed from him. He had to fill some circles on a piece of paper. The nurse had to keep squeezing his heal to get some more blood out. The first few squeezes were fine but after that he wanted nothing else to do with it. It was funny because he would scream when she would squeeze and when she stopped he stopped and closed his eyes as though he was going to sleep. It seemed like he couldn't make up his mind. After a lot of squeezing the blood was just not coming anymore. So the nurse pricked the other heal. Once again he did not cry at this, he only whimpered when she squeezed it. Thanks goodness at this point all the circles were filled and he was done. Like I said, he did great. Aunt Amber stayed out in the waiting room, we were not sure if she would  be able to make it through the whole ordeal. She was there to support him and I think that is why he did so great.

If you can see the display is says 7 pounds 15 ounces.

Here is when we found out he is 21 inches long.

Heart beat checks out great!

After we left the doctor's office, Casey went back to school and Ryanne and Amber took Spencer home. Spencer was off for the rest of the day. He just slept. It ended up being a big day for our "little tamale."

Rub-a-dub-dub Spencer in the tub

Spencer definitely liked being wrapped up in his towel more than he liked being in the bath.

It will be nice when we can get Spencer all the way in the water.  No matter how fast I go the sponge bath always leaves him cold.

He's had better moments!

Grandma's are the best

What would new parents ever do without Grandmas?
We know that we would have a child wrapped in a burlap sack if it was not for our awesome Grandmas.
We would love to give a big shout out to our Grandmas (Karen, Sue and Leslie) for finding some of the sweetest outfits for our little Spencer.
HOLLA!
If it were not for the three of you we would not have gotten so many people ohhing and ahhing over how cute our little Spener is.
THANK YOU!

*We can't wait to see what else these Grandmas have in store for Spencer.

Two Peas in a Pod

Casey loves spending time with Spencer when he gets home from a long day at work.  And, Spencer loves spending time with his daddy after a busy day with mommy.  Luckily for the two of them they like to do the same thing - sleep!

Casey burping Spencer or what it looks like to me is Casey and Spencer napping.

The two of them were supposed to be putting up shelves, but when I checked on them this is what they were doing instead.

Casey and Spencer volunteered to make a blog post but as all of us can see that didn't happen.

Saturday mornings are the best!
