Weekend with my mom

My mom came to visit and help me get things organized before the Tamale arrives.  She flew in on Thursday afternoon and left on Sunday.  For some reason the airline decided to send her luggage onto California so she was without everything until Friday night.  Lucky for her she fit into Casey's shirts so she just borrowed some of his stuff.

We accomplished quite a bit within the few days she was here.  We picked out fabric for the babies room which wasn't as easy as we thought it would be.  Everything we picked out seemed to be either boy or girl and we definitely didn't want that.  So we finally settled on chocolate brown, lime green, and cream which will go with either accents after the baby is born.  We started to make curtains, crib skirt, and a changing table pad but didn't quite finish so now I'm trying to get them done within the next week.  We went through all the baby gifts and washed everything that could possibly be washed.  Lastly, we organized the room so that I know where to put things as we get them.  Of coarse we did other things like Zumba class, looking at houses, eating out, and relaxing.  I wish she could have stayed longer but I know she'll be back in a month when the Tamale is born.

My mom and I making sure the curtains are the right length

My mom was such a trooper.  She stayed up sewing until 1am on Saturday night.  Bless her heart!

35 weeks and 35 inches

I made a promise to take a photo of my belly at the beginning of each month of the pregnancy.  I kept that promise until last week when I realized that I was at 35 weeks and hadn't take a photo yet.  The neat thing is when we took the photo we also measured my belly and I happened to be 35 inches around as well.  Maybe that is why I forgot to take the photo at 34 weeks.  Anyway, I think I'm going to start taking a photo every 2 weeks now since I'm growing more and there isn't that much time left.  Stay tuned.

Let it snow some more

I'm a little behind on blogging but that isn't going to stop me from making posts.  This winter has been a mild one here in Utah.  We would have liked to see three times as much snow so a few weeks ago when it finally did snow Casey and I were super excited about it.  So excited we took a some pictures.

Casey shoveling our stairs.  Yes, he is wearing shorts!

If only the snow had stayed for a few days.  It's so much fun waking up to your car covered in snow.

Surprise!

My husband is so wonderful and I think everyone should know why.  Yesterday afternoon I received a text that said "pack an overnight bag and be ready to go at 5:30 pm".  When Casey got home he told me that he booked a hotel up in Salt Lake City for the night.  He remembered that I had wanted to get away before the baby came so he took it upon himself and made it happen.  We checked into our hotel and then went to dinner at The Garden restaurant which is at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  We had a table that overlooked the beautiful city and Temple. After dinner we searched the downtown area to find a Starbucks only to find that they closed at 9:00 pm.  Seriously?  Who closes on a Friday night at 9:00 pm?  All we wanted was a yummy steamer.  So Then we made our way to Gateway Mall and got tickets to the movie "Valentine's Day" which was a good, funny movie so if you haven't seen it I recommend it.  I wish we would have had more time to spend at our hotel because it was super nice - maybe next time!  This morning we woke up early and did a session in the Salt Lake City Temple.  Neither of us had done a session in this Temple before so it was neat to do that together.  While we were at the Temple I bumped into an old friend of mine from Missoula, MT.  It was so good to see her.  Sorry that I don't have any photos of this wonderful overnight surprise but at least you know how sweet my husband truly is.  I LOVE you Sugar!
